The new Pokemon dress up beckoned me. And here we are.

Linka, from the Sevii Islands: Fun fact, in the anime wild Squirtle are there. This keeps Pokemon!verse Linka from a remote, poorly understood area while keeping her off continent from the main cast.

Ma-Ti, from the Orange Islands: Close to the equator, home of many Bulbasaur. They are, of the starters, the hardest to befriend and the most independant, so I gave him one (albeit evolved so he's not totally useless) as his Pokemon.

Kwame, from Hoenn. Firstly, he's the oldest so he gets the strongest Pokemon. Second, Phoebe, one of few characters with his skintone, is also from Hoenn.

Gi, from Sinnoh and appropriated over dressed and overprepared like most people from that region are. Captured a roaming Lugia, but doesn't have the greatest control over it yet.

And Wheeler, from Johto. Complete with loud, proud, blatant and unsubtle Typholsion. A tough and fiery Pokemon to suit his personality, but also one that is surprisingly strong when utilized, and can take some legendaries in competitive play.

When Team Galactic gathers together villains from across the nations to help them in their quest to take over and restart the world, Gaia gives five special rings to five special young people enabling them to use their Pokemon's elements themselves and increase them with their emotions. (Except for Ma-Ti whose Ivysaur just gets a mall stat boost.) When their powers combine, they summon Mew. Or maybe Arceus. I'm not clear on that.
